Resin infusion

The infusion process allows for the fabrication of large-scale structures with an optimized resin-to-fiber ratio and total absence of trapped air. Unlike hand lay-up, in infusion, the resin is drawn in by the vacuum itself, impregnating the fabrics (carbon, glass, or kevlar) in a uniform and controlled manner.

Key elements for successful infusion:

  • Flow Media (Flow Mesh): Helps the resin spread quickly across the entire surface of the part.
  • Channels and Spirals: Allow directing the resin front and ensuring it reaches the furthest areas of the mold.
  • Connectors and Ports: Critical accessories to ensure a leak-proof resin inlet and vacuum suction point.
